We invite you to help support our ambitious and determined students in their quest for a college education.

U-Lead Athens is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. Your contribution will help our students pay for college fees and tuition, textbooks, and living expenses while in college. Non-cash donations might include SAT and ACT books, an item from our Amazon wish list, school supplies and printer toner, a meal for our meetings (our students and mentors come directly from school or work!), napkins, a laptop or a tablet, linens for students moving out to college.

Brayan Abreu Travel Scholarship

We are so proud of Brayan Abreu, who graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. He told us that he might not have gone to IIT if he hadn’t visited there first. U-Lead provided support for Brayan to travel to Chicago, where he met two distinguished professors in the Engineering program who mentored him.

As a member of Undocumented Students and Allies at IIT, Brayan led a successful campaign to create a scholarship fund for undocumented students. Brayan wrote, “I hope these stories will inspire other students whether they are undocumented or not.”

Brayan has inspired all of us. When he died shortly after graduating from IIT, we created a scholarship for students to visit colleges they are considering attending. It is the Brayan Abreu Travel Scholarship. Brayan will continue to inspire and support U-Lead students for many years.
